SAILING (INTRO
TO SMALL BOAT) (1480): FEE: $240.00
This course teaches the basic skills necessary to sail small sailboats
safely. There are a total of sixteen hours of instruction and sailing
on Cayuga Lake. Transportation will be provided. Course fee includes
all equipment: lifejackets, wetsuits and drysuits, boots, sailing
gloves and a copy of a sailing text. Open to sailors of all skill
levels. EARLY DROP DEADLINE OF 8/31. Classes will meet:

SAILING (SMALL
BOAT-COMPETITIVE) (1481): FEE: $240.00 Text
Prerequisite: Sailing experience required, racing experience preferred.
This course teaches the basic skills necessary to sail small boats
safely and competitively. The vanguard 420 sailboat will be used to
teach this course. The USYRU Rules book will be the text for the course.
Recommended for those who want to join the sailing team. Course fee
includes one full year membership in the university sailing team program.
Class times are 3-6 hours per session. 6 Sessions and 1 regatta required
for Physical Education credit. Classes will meet:

SAILING (LARGE
BOAT) (1482): FEE: $240.00
Learn how to sail on 24 and 26 foot sailboats. Skills learned include:
Sailing terminology, safety and etiquette, boat handling, sail trimming,
use of spinnakers, heavy wind selection, and ship systems. EARLY

RECREATIONAL
SAILING (1483): FEE: $240.00
For those who already know how to sail. Students may go to the sailing
facility during the listed times and days and take boats out to sail
when they are not being used for instructional sailing. Students must
pass knowledge test before they are allowed to take boats out.

SAILING (LARGE
BOAT-COMPETITIVE) (1484): FEE: $240.00 Text
Prerequisite: Sailing experience required, This course teaches the
basic skills necessary to sail and crew large boats safely and competitively.
23-26 foot sailboats will be used to teach this course. The USYRU
Rules book will be the text for the course. Class times are 4 hours
per session. 6 Sessions and 1 regatta required for Physical Education

INTRO TO COMPETITIVE
ROWING (1575)
This is an introduction
to Division I rowing. Athletes with no prior rowing experience are
accepted and encouraged. The class will involve significant physical
activity and students are expected to be in good physical condition.
Instruction on the basics of the rowing stroke, use of indoor tanks,
the ergometers, weight training, stretching, calisthenics also instruction
on the water as well. At the conclusion of class, students may be
invited to join the varsity team. Meeting times will be arranged and
are approximately 2 hours in length. INFORMATIONAL MEETING: FRIEDMAN
WRESTLING CENTER, THURSDAY, AUGUST 27th, 5PM. Classes will meet:
